Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about TX DPS Alerts

About the Service

What is TX DPS Alerts?

TX DPS Alerts is a notification service that monitors the Texas Department of Public Safety appointment system and sends you email alerts when appointments become available in your preferred location. Instead of constantly refreshing the DPS website, we do the monitoring for you 24/7.

Is this affiliated with TX DPS?

No. This is an independent monitoring service. We check the public TX DPS scheduler website and notify you when appointments are available. You still book directly through the official DPS site at public.txdpsscheduler.com.

How fast will I get notified?

We check for new appointments every 30 minutes around the clock. When new slots open up, you'll get an email alert with a direct link to book.

What appointment types do you monitor?

We monitor the following appointment types through the TX DPS scheduler:

  • Road Test - Behind-the-wheel driving skills test
  • New License - First-time Texas driver's license
  • Renewal - License or ID card renewal

Pricing & Billing

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free - $0/month

  • * 1 email alert per day
  • * All appointment types
  • * All 10 TX metro regions

Pro - $9.99/month

  • * All appointment types

Why only 1 alert per day on Free?

We want to keep the free tier sustainable while still being useful. One daily alert lets you know when appointments are available in your area. Pro users get up to 5 alerts per day for the best chance of booking before slots fill up.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Email support@texasdpsalerts.com and we'll cancel immediately — no fees or penalties. Your alerts continue until the end of your billing period. Free tier users can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any alert email.

What if I find an appointment on my own?

Great! Unsubscribe from alerts using the link in any notification email. If you're on a paid plan, email support@texasdpsalerts.com to cancel your subscription. We're happy you got your appointment — that's the goal!
